Boat worker launches accident claim after injury at work

A man has launched an accident claim after he fell 30 feet onto a marble floor while he was working on a boat.

The man fell through a floor after it gave way and he landed on the hard floor below. The accident left the worker with a fractured vertebra which meant that he needed surgery. The worker has said that he still suffers with pain from the injury now – almost a year on.

The worker is putting in an accident claim for damages from his employers, Princess Yachts International PLC.
It is reported that the insurers for Princess Yachts have already admitted liability for the injuries that the worker sustained but that there is a dispute between the two sides as to how much compensation the worker should receive.

The victim of the accident has said that the company was negligent and that they were in breach of their statutory duty and it was this that caused the accident.

The victim has stated that he needs constant help to carry out everyday tasks and that he has been unable to work since the accident.

Although it has not been agreed as to how much he will receive, lawyers have estimated that his accident claim is worth up to £100,000.
